Born into a large Italian family, Terry practically grew up in the kitchen. Whenever her friends tasted her baked goods, they craved more and wanted to buy them to give as gifts. In 2007, Terry decided to select a few of her cakes and offer them for public purchase. The requests quickly increased and that was the beginning of Dessert Classics. In 2009 her cakes were selected for the “Virginia’s Finest” award, placing Dessert Classics among the best of the best.
Terry knew this was what she was meant to do, as long as all of Dessert Classic’s baked goods could be made with the finest ingredients. So Terry makes sure all of Dessert Classics baked goods are made with top quality ingredients, including real butter, freshly toasted nuts and no preservatives.
A lot of people ask Terry what is the most ordered item. It is her wonderful rum cake! She hand drip coats the cake with her butter rum glaze, using Bacardi select dark rum while it is still warm. Then she tops with fresh toasted pecans.
The newest addition and very popular are the beautiful hand made sugar art flowers Terry now offers for you to adorn your own special affairs. Daffodils, Roses, Anemones and Daisys. They all come in different sizes and colors to match your next event.
